To show our appreciation and to guide you through a successful plan, here our our Top 7 Hardcore DIY Tips!
You can save up to 75% on your wedding flowers, and all it takes is some planning and a few hours of work!
1. Have a Plan
How many bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc. do you plan to make? Any additional decorations like floral garlands, or rose petal aisles? Our Wedding Consultants can help you decide how many flowers you will need! Many brides will practice by using fake flowers or ordering a smaller amount for a bridal shower or another event prior to their wedding.
2. Research, Research, Research
Decide what type of bouquets/arrangements/etc. you want and research videos on YouTube. Find out what supplies you will need... floral tape, wire, oasis foam, vases, DIY floral arrangers, floral pins, and ribbon.
3. Have your Supplies and Tools Ready
In addition to the supplies you may need above, you will need several 5 gallon buckets (easy to find at home-repair stores), good quality sharp shears to cut stems, thorn strippers (if using roses), a garden hose or access to plenty of water (to fill up buckets and add more water as needed), and A HELPER (or several), it does take time to process flowers and create your beautiful arrangements!
4. Order Extra Stems
Flowers are a sturdy product, however sometimes there may be a few stems that are more to your liking than others. If you have extras, make a few extra arrangements, or make your bouquet a little fuller!
5. Process your Flowers Immediately Upon Arrival
Plan on receiving your flowers a couple days before the wedding and PROCESS THEM RIGHT AWAY!! Fill your buckets part way with water and a couple of drops of bleach, cut stems and place your flowers in water, let them hydrate! Our customer service reps will be calling you to make sure you received your flowers and give you any any extra care instructions! Also, read or print out the care instructions for each type of flower!
6. Watch your Flowers Bloom
You may need to make adjustments while your flowers are hydrating. If you need your flowers to open faster you can expose them to warmer weather and take off the protective wrappers, if you prefer your flowers tighter, keep cool and leave protective wrapper on. Remember, we are here to help, so call or chat in with any questions you may have!
Gather all your friends and family, have all the supplies ready and have fun! Place, arrange and create the bouquet or arrangements of your dreams!
We look forward to helping you plan the event of your dreams while staying within your budget! Stay tuned for Great Promotions, Real DIY Inspiration, and More!
