10 Fun Ways to Decorate your Wedding with Flowers

written by Marina Strong August 22, 2014

Yesterday, I shared our suggestions for Who Gets Flowers on your Wedding Day. So now that the people are covered, I thought I would share some other fun ways to decorate your wedding with flowers.

Hair Accessories – Ok, I’m not quite done with the people yet…In addition to your Bridal Bouquet, try placing a few blooms in your hair. Or, a big trend this year, a full floral crown. You can even let your bridesmaids join the fun…

Aisle Decor – There’s the rose petal aisles, and the pew decorations, the buckets of flowers lining the aisle and hanging jars at the ends of shepherds hooks… Not exactly new, but hey, they are all fun and great for adding a special floral touch to your wedding walk.

Ceremony (or Photo-booth) Backdrop – If you decorate your aisle, you can’t forget the end of the aisle. Arches or chuppahs are common places for flowers, but what about creating a floral backdrop?! You can attach flowers to a wall or hang small bud vases. This same idea could work well for a photo-booth backdrop as well…

Ceremony Seating – Another way to decorate your ceremony space… Place a single bloom on the back of each seat. Simple and oh sooo pretty.

Bride and Groom Chairs And speaking of seating… Dress up the back of the Bride and Groom chairs with some fresh flowers or greens… Because your seats should stand out!

Chandeliers and Hanging Centerpieces – Centerpieces are pretty obvious at weddings, but you can now take them to greater heights! A floral chandelier or hanging centerpieces that float above each table  are sure to get your guests talking.

Statement or Focal Piece – A welcome arrangement taken to the next level. Create a statement piece that sets the feel for your wedding. It could be a simple as a ladder with a few strategically placed arrangements, a floral monogram, or a full on floral masterpiece…

Floating Flowers – Is your reception taking place poolside? Floating flowers are a great way to spruce up this otherwise un-used space.

Odds n Ends – There are soooo many places where flowers can be placed for extra impact. The buffet table or cake table, the bar or the DJ booth. At each place setting… Even the bathroom! Little arrangements can go a long way in adding to the overall look and feel of your wedding, so don’t forget these little spots!
