An up and coming trend this year I have noticed are balloons and no, I am not talking about the pear-shaped balloons that are commonly used in birthday parties. I am talking about large and perfectly round balloons! This balloon trend first started with the mylar balloons (also known as letter balloons), which I’m sure most of you have seen or used on special occasions. Now, the giant balloons have become quite popular. These balloons can be decorated with tassels, ribbon, greenery, flowers, confetti and more. They’re affordable, versatile and easy to use. The balloons can be used to outline an aisle or as a ceremony background. They are great photo props for your bridal party and guests. You can also incorporate balloons into your reception by pairing them with a simple floral arrangement or on its own as a table centerpiece.

Scroll below for some ideas on how to incorporate these trendy balloons on your special day!

Wedding balloons are the perfect way to light up your wedding. They present a demeanour which perfectly captures the occasion. You will not be surprised when I say that even wedding anniversary balloons are very popular.

I love your idea of matching balloon colors to the colors of bridesmaid dresses. It would be really good to get decorative balloon arrangements that go with your wedding colors. I would imagine that you would want to meet with the specialist beforehand in order to consider which colors would work best for your event.

How long should the garland be for the balloons? We are using them for our flower girls and will then use them for a back drop.

Hi Celeste, that sounds lovely! Using an actual garland might weight them down though. Check out this DIY blog post that shows you how to create your own floral garland.
