Add color and texture to your fall centerpieces! This week, Violet gives us a Long, Low and Lush Centerpiece, perfect for fall weddings or holiday dinner parties!
Wholesale Flowers used in this centerpiece:
- French Tulips in Cream or Yellow
- Orange Eremurus
- Curly Willow
- Purple Spray Stock
- Scabiosa pods
- Purple and Green Kale
Violet likes to use birch bark containers to “bring the seasons indoors.” It gives the centerpiece an earthy and outdoorsy vibe! You could also use old wooden crates or boxes. Use oasis foam to keep flowers hydrated and to keep flowers in place for easier arranging. First, cut oasis foam down to size so it will fit comfortably in your container, then place foam in a bowl or sink of water until completely saturated. Let foam sink into water, don’t push it down, this will ensure it is completely saturated. Once soaked, place in container.
Violet says, “I love using greens (in this case the kale) as “flowers” and they take up a lot of space!” So, for this centerpiece, I would start by placing your kale where you want, since this will be the focal flower of the centerpiece and like Violet says, will take up a lot of space. Then, start filling in the empty space with the tulips, spray stock and scabiosa pods (which add some awesome fall texture, btw)! Add in the eremurus for lush texture by sticking them in different directions to add height or horizontal dimension. Finally, place the curly willow throughout to finish the look and tie everything together!
