If you haven’t heard of paint dipping, you may have been living under a rock for a while…but that’s okay, I am here to help! DIY’ers have been paint dipping everything, from bar stools and chairs, to bowls, mugs and utensils, and of course, jars, tins, vases, and pots… It’s a great way to add interest or a fresh pop of color to boring or plain items and it’s a great way to recycle… Don’t throw away all those old glass jars…Dip ’em!
Recently, we sent a box of fresh flowers to Seattle Prop Stylist, Daniele Maxwell, and she created this super cute DIY project featuring Paint Dipped Jars! So, if you have a Wedding, Baby or Bridal Shower, or Birthday Bash coming up, check out how you could recycle your old jars into cute containers for fresh flowers…
- Clean glass bottles, canning jars or glass vases (all labels removed)
- Acrylic paints
- Parchment paper (for drying)
Step 1: Pour out some paint into the bowl – you don’t need much, maybe 1/2 cup or so.
Step 2: While holding the bowl on an angle, dip the jar in, and begin slowly turning the jar as it touches the paint.
Step 3: Sit the jars right-side up to dry. Dry overnight. It’s important to let them dry right-side up first so that no paint drips in the wrong direction.
Step 4: Turn the jars over for a few more hours to let the bottom dry.
Once the jars are ready all you need to do is pop in your favorite flowers. Browse a huge selection of wholesale flowers at FiftyFlowers.com and get them delivered straight to your door!
See how easy and affordable this is? Plus, these vases could even double as guest favors! Place clusters of vases in the center of the table or place a little bud vase at each place setting. With so many uses, how will you use your paint dipped jars?
