DIY Wedding Flowers for a Destination Wedding in Charleston

Are you thinking about a destination wedding but worried about asking people travel or wondering how you will pull it all off? Well, the Bride from this Charleston Wedding has some advice, so read on to hear Rebecca’s story and to see how it all turned out!

Rebecca and Eric were married on Feb. 1st, 2014 at The Historic Rice Mill in Charleston, South Carolina. They had gotten engaged while living away from their family and friends and thought a destination wedding might be the best option for them. Rebecca said, “We always have a blast at destination weddings – it’s just special to be somewhere new and fun with people you may not get to see often. We also embraced the concept of basically forcing guests into a mini vacation.” She worked with vendors that are used to working with out-of-town brides so she felt confident that they could pull it off.

One of those vendors was Us! Rebecca ordered the following flowers from FiftyFlowers.com; DIY Wedding Pack 100 Roses and 15-20 Hydrangeas (100 Creamy White Roses, 20 White Hydrangeas, 10 bunches of Peach Spray Roses, 5 bunches of Israeli Ruscus and 5 bunches of Tree Fern), Make Your Own Flower Centerpieces Combo Box (40 stems of Creamy White Spray Roses, 4 bunches of Israeli Ruscus, 2 bunches of White Asters and 2 bunches of White Hypericum Berries), 12 Fresh Callas and Greens Centerpieces, and 25 stems of Polo White Roses.

In the end, Rebecca and Eric got the waterfront destination wedding of their dreams – ice storm and all. The bride has some final words of advice for other couples planning their own wedding away. “Get married wherever it feels the most right for you as a couple. The people who want to celebrate with you will be there – don’t automatically assume it’s inconvenient for people to travel. Find a photographer you connect with – your pictures are going to be more meaningful than you may realize and you deserve to love them! Lastly, people aren’t lying when they say your wedding day will fly by…try not to spend any minute of it stressing about silly things.”
