“I live in Metro-Detroit, Mi (West Bloomfield, specifically) but we held our wedding on The Outer Banks of North Carolina, in the town of Nags Head, on September 14, 2012. It was BEAUTIFUL~ everything about our wedding was amazing! The location and all the details that my husband, our wedding party, and I all worked so hard on!! Our wedding was certainly a DIY extravaganza. Our venue was a big, rental house right on the ocean that my husband, our bridal party & their significant others, our kids and myself stayed at for the week prior to our wedding. It was a GREAT bonding experience for everyone – it was one of my bridesmaids birthday on the Tuesday before the wedding, so we all got together and threw her a surprise party that night. We did dinners as a big group at some really nice places right on the ocean, and my husband and I got to sneak away a few times and get some romantic moments for just the two of us. It was a magical trip!”
“We decided to have our wedding in North Carolina, basically because to have it in our home town would have been too expensive. If we had held it near Detroit, we would have had to invite ALL of our extended family and that was nearing the 300 person mark which was a number we knew we’d never be able to afford. So, we landed in Nags Had, NC which was far enough away for it to be a “destination wedding” but close enough for the people closest to us to travel. The wedding itself had about 35 people in attendance, including myself, my husband, our 2 kids, our wedding party, our parents, and grand parents. Just our closest friends and family were there and it was perfection. We had a budget of around 10,000-15,000 for EVERYTHING, including the travel expenses and all the wedding details. My mother bought my wedding dress and helped in SO many ways and my dad paid for the rental house and the catering for the night of the wedding. My husband and I paid for everything else on our own.”
“Our wedding was perfect. All the bouquets came out just as I had pictured in my head and the entire wedding had the rustic-beach feeling I had been dreaming of for months, in large part to the flowers! Thank you SO much FiftyFlowers, I can’t express how easy and stress free that part of my wedding was. I picked out my flowers, picked my delivery date, ordered, and didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was great! Certainly one of the easiest and most enjoyable parts of planning my wedding, by far!”
You know this was a fun wedding when the Bride and Groom jump into the Pool at the end of the night! Congrats you two! 🙂
