Looking for ways to interact with your guests with hands-on activities? I am sharing a few ideas you can do using fresh, wholesale flowers! Playing with flowers is a wonderful way to bond with friends and it doubles as a party favor.
For our flower crafternoon, I invited both my friends and their kids. This flower arranging crafternoon was a perfect activity for people of all ages. I created a flower bar display and with the extra flowers, we also made flower crowns and corsages, which you’ll see below!
The color palette was kept bright and fun. I made sure to pick out flowers with unique textures and sizes. Flowers like lilies, gerbera daisies and spray roses definitely added a fun element!
Here’s what I ordered:
Create Your Flower Bar Display
This sets the stage visually and is also a handy way to keep your flowers hydrated. I used larger vases and containers I had at home (Pro tip: thrift stores are practically giving them away, and most yard sales are too!) I used a little coffee/garden table to give myself more room and a better vertical view, and nested shorter vases and buckets underneath. Separating the greenery and flowers by type makes it easy for your guests to see everything and grab what they want for a custom arrangement of their choice. You might consider using buckets to display your flowers too.
Prep The Containers That Your Guests Will Take Home
By my count, we managed to make at least 25 smaller vases worth and still have some leftover! I suggest simple, smaller vases for younger kids (don’t use anything you will mind parting with) and having a few rolls of clear tape around to teach them the easy grid work technique to help structure the arrangement. You can also look into using our DIY compote vase kit which includes vases and floral design pillows. This would be a great bridal shower activity as well!
Build Your Own Corsage Station
Have flowers left over, but not enough to make an arrangement? Make a corsage! I collected a few spools of wider ribbon, scissors, and some floral tape. Everyone who wanted to create their own quick corsage had the option to do so. I did a live demonstration of this and it went over very well with people of all ages, ranging from ages 8 to 89. If you choose to do this, I recommend looking into our boutonniere and corsage kit, which includes floral tape, wrap wristlets, corsage magnets and more!
A special thanks to an amazing friend and photographer who perfectly captured our flower crafternoon, Gina Duran.
