Real Wedding: Intimate Outdoor North Carolina Wedding

written by Katie Schlossberg September 12, 2016
When we were tagged in photographer Sarah Vanderford‘s pictures, we immediately fell in love with the look this couple created. They really struck a wonderful balance between classic pastel wedding flowers and more unexpected, textural flowers (particularly the Arabacum Star of Bethlehem!) in their floral arrangements. Keep scrolling to see the whole look!

Here’s what they ordered to create their lush, romantic look: Arabacum Star of Bethlehem (15 bunches), Peaches and Cream Designer Hypericum Berries (5 bunches), Pale Vintage Hydrangea Flower (15 stems), Whimsical Garden Rose Sample Pack (they chose White Blush, Creamy Ivory, Blush Pink, and Southern Comfort),Make Your Own Centerpieces Combo Box (they chose Pink Spray Roses and Peach Hypericums), Eucalyptus Wedding DIY Greenery Box (small pack).

From Sarah Vanderford Photography“This was a second wedding for both Patsy and Steve so they wanted a small, intimate come as you are and come if you can wedding! They are both from Virginia Beach, VA but wanted somewhat of a destination wedding. With the Outer Banks, NC (a cluster of islands off the coast of the Carolinas) only an hour and half from where they live it was the perfect choice. They rented a large home so many out of town family and friends stayed with them and got to celebrate all week! One thing that was important to Patsy was the ceremony being in a separate location then the reception…she wanted the marriage ceremony portion to be special and unique. They planned a midweek ceremony so as to not be rushed right when they got into town, nor rushed right as they were getting ready to leave and it was PERFECTION.

Some flowers were shipped to the bride’s home the Thursday before they left to go down to the Outer Banks (and travelled amazingly well) and the rest were shipped to the rental home the Tuesday before the wedding. She did all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces with flowers from FiftyFlowers and they were hands down the most gorgeous arrangements I have seen!!  The staff was so amazing, knowledgable and helpful to her through the whole process.”

Patsy’s personal style and grace is apparent in everything she does from her choice in flowers to the way she considers her wedding guests and their needs. And though I couldn’t attend, I knew that every detail would be impeccable whether through Patsy’s personal touch or through her intercessor’s….that’s just how she rolls. So – if the newly minted Mrs. Robinson is recommending Sarah, Violet, and Fifty Flowers…it’s a gold star recommendation.

As the bride mentioned above, I want to say everything Sarah said and more! I do want to recognize the outstanding customer service, as well. I have been a retail manager for over 25 years, and was blown away by Violet, who helped me from start to finish. Her knowledge, expertise, and friendly attitude made my experience with Fifty Flowers a pleasure. She was awesome, and I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone thanks, in no small part, to her. Thank you for helping me get EXACTLY what I never knew I always wanted. ? Five star service, all the way!
