When we were tagged in photographer Sarah Vanderford‘s pictures, we immediately fell in love with the look this couple created. They really struck a wonderful balance between classic pastel wedding flowers and more unexpected, textural flowers (particularly the Arabacum Star of Bethlehem!) in their floral arrangements. From Sarah Vanderford Photography, “This was a second wedding for both Patsy and Steve so they wanted a small, intimate come as you are and come if you can wedding! They are both from Virginia Beach, VA but wanted somewhat of a destination wedding. With the Outer Banks, NC (a cluster of islands off the coast of the Carolinas) only an hour and half from where they live it was the perfect choice. They rented a large home so many out of town family and friends stayed with them and got to celebrate all week! One thing that was important to Patsy was the ceremony being in a separate location then the reception…she wanted the marriage ceremony portion to be special and unique. They planned a midweek ceremony so as to not be rushed right when they got into town, nor rushed right as they were getting ready to leave and it was PERFECTION.
Some flowers were shipped to the bride’s home the Thursday before they left to go down to the Outer Banks (and travelled amazingly well) and the rest were shipped to the rental home the Tuesday before the wedding. She did all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces with flowers from FiftyFlowers and they were hands down the most gorgeous arrangements I have seen!! The staff was so amazing, knowledgable and helpful to her through the whole process.”
