For our second installment of in-house styled shoots, we decided to focus on the eternally popular (and DIY-friendly) Baby’s Breath! Super hardy, voluminous, and easy to work with, it’s a great choice for simple centerpieces that can be put together shortly before your event. This look is made even easier with our new Country Clouds DIY Centerpiece pack, which includes both the Baby’s Breath and the milk jug vases featured in the second table setting. Our goal with this shoot was to show how you can make your Baby’s Breath centerpieces do double duty and go from your reception or cocktail hour to morning-after brunch the next day! Just be sure to keep an eye on their water level, maybe give the bunches’ stems a fresh trim in the morning if you have the time, and they should last and last.
First, the nighttime look! To create the backdrop, we simply cut long strips of cream colored tulle and tied knots in the middle of each. Then we strung the knots through a length of twine, and used thumbtacks to attach it to one of the wooden walls in our office! Frame it with some draping white string lights and you’ve got a super romantic, super affordable setting. Here’s how it came together:
Props included in this tablescape: White string lights, Scallop-edged white plates, Plain white plates, Silverware, Mason Jar cups, Ivory cloth napkins, Walnut wood slices, Burlap & pearl tea light holders. The tufted velvet chairs came from a local consignment shop, Renewal, and our photographer brought the crocheted doilies from home–they were used in her wedding!
Next up, the daytime composition! I mentioned above that this could function as second use for your reception arrangements, but this would also be an easy option for the emerging trend of having a brunch wedding. You can read more about this (very budget-friendly!) option here, on The Knot. For the backdrop of this one, we used some clear thumbtacks to and twine to trace out the cursive “love,” then removed the twine and replaced it with string lights once the tack placement was set. Voilà!
Props included in this tablescape: Wine (or water) glasses, Champagne glasses, Red cloth napkins, Silverware, Ceramic milk bottle set, Table runner, White string lights, Scallop-edged white plates, Baby’s Breath & milk jug vases. Food, juice, and champagne from Trader Joe’s!
As you can see, Baby’s Breath is a low-maintenance bride’s best friend, easily going from night to day! If you’re ready to make your planning a little bit easier, check out the brand new Country Clouds DIY Centerpiece Pack here.
