Adding greenery to your decor “really elevates the look; gives the whole table a feeling that’s fresh and inviting and festive,” said Maria Bywater of Huppahs.com.
Read on to learn exactly how to attach a garland onto your table, step by step!
1. Gather Your Supplies
- Your choice of garland
- Strong tablecloth clips (You can find these in houseware stores.)
- Florist wire
- Florist scissors
Tip: Use clips that clamp strongly rather than the plastic slip-on kind. The heavier the garland, the more clips you’ll need.
2. Attach the Table Cloth Clips
Attach the tablecloth clips to the edges of the table top, over the tablecloth. Then slip pieces of florist wire, about 10” long, between each clip and the table. They used 20 clips to line the sides and front of our table.
3. Add in the Garland
Beginning at one end of the table, attach the garland to each clip by tightly twisting the wire around the center of the garland. Continue around the table.
4. Wrap Around the Table
For this project, we attached the garland along the sides and front of the table and then used an additional length of garland to place on top of the table along the back side. This creates a little more interest and acts as a back to the table.
And there you have it! An easy DIY project that adds a fresh look to any table!
