A Mountain Miracle

Matt and I are both survivors of adult cancer and attended the same outdoor adventure therapy camp several years apart. A few years later, we ran on the same Ragnar Relay Team, from Breckenridge to Snowmass, Colorado, raising money for the outdoor adventure camp. After Matt asked me to go kayaking with him on our first date, we've continued to enjoy our time in the mountains, running, mountain biking, and skiing. We even got engaged under a remote arch in Utah! When planning our wedding, there was no better place for mountain folk like ourselves than Crested Butte, Colorado, known for the wildflowers. I knew the flowers at our wedding needed to closely resemble the mountainside wildflower fields where we fell in love. Fiftyflowers provided the best place to get an assortment of flowers, and included several flowers similar to Colorado native wildflowers such as larkspur, delphinium, daisies, and ferns. I had a blast making the boutonnieres the night before the wedding with a cousin I hadn't seen in years and an aunt from the east coast. My bouquet came out more beautiful than I ever imagined. I finished off my bouquet with a blue leaf pin from my grandmother who passed a few months before the wedding. On the wedding day, my mom, my now sister-in-law and I filled antique glass vases, some from old mining communities, with chamomile daisies, viking poms, and other assorted flowers. We finished off the tables, with homemade cloth napkins from assorted wildflower prints. There was so much love around us on our wedding day.

Please note; Due to the delicacy of poppies and anemones, I had to have two orders to get the flowers delivered to the right place at the right time. My second order includes the poppies and anemones seen in my bouquet.
