Backyard DIY Wedding in 6 Months

I moved to Fresno, California with a job transfer 4 years ago. I met my now husband, Patrick, two weeks before I was considering moving back home to Texas. Boy, am I glad I didn't take another job transfer! After dating for only 4 months, my Love proposed, and we embarked on a 6-month engagement. Neither of us are from Fresno so planning a wedding was quite the adventure - and in 6 months! Our bridal party traveled from 5 states and 1 overseas country. My parents came from Texas and Patrick's family came from Los Angeles. During the evenings, I crafted almost everything for our wedding. We had so many wonderful families from Fresno that offered their help as well. We were blessed by some dear friends that hosted our wedding at their home and another dear friend took my vision of mountain arbors and built them by hand for us as a wedding gift! When it came to flowers, I researched local florists as well as the flower districts in San Francisco and LA. None of those options fit our wedding budget. I'm so glad I came across FiftyFlowers! I was instantly intrigued by how beautiful the floral options were! And of course, the prices! Another thing that I loved was I could add favorites to my account and then share them with my Mom in Texas so I could help her feel like she was here with me planning our wedding! It was amazing when the flowers began to arrive on Wednesday and then continued to come on Thursday and Friday! To see them all in person was quite the vision! On Friday, my Mom, her BFF, my MIL, 2 Sis-in-Laws, 3 bridesmaids and 3 friends who all flew in from out of state gathered together to try our hand at DIY bouquets and arrangements. Spending our afternoon together learning something we all had never done before was such a fun reunion time! We had moments filled with nerves, giggles, and oohing and ahhing! We used a few of the DIY articles from FiftyFlowers' blog and YouTube channel - so very helpful! It took us around 3 hours to create our bouquets, table arrangements and ceremony aisle flowers that were hung on shepherds' hooks. My Maid of Honor took the challenge to create the floral arrangements for our wedding mountain arbors! She did such a fabulous job! All our guests complimented us on the florals and asked who the florist was! They were shocked that we DIY'd the flowers! We left for our honeymoon a day after our wedding and because many of our family/guests flew to California for our wedding, I decided to donate our centerpieces to a local Senior Home for Memory Loss. Delivering our beautiful flowers to the residents and seeing their expressions was the most heartwarming feeling ever! I'm so glad we were able to bless so many people with them after our big day! FiftyFlowers - ya'll are absolutely incredible! Your flowers are gorgeous, your prices are so remarkable, and your customer service is impeccable! Thank you so much for making Patrick & my special day a dream come true!
