Classic New England

Susan Glass (Bride) FARMINGTON, CT
We DIYed our flowers with a combination of some basics used for centerpieces (roses, hydrangeas, snapdragons) from another retailer (rhymes with Lostco) and purchased the more specialty blooms and greenery through FiftyFlowers for our bouquets and boutonnieres. By using all whites and greens, the varying species of blooms coordinated well together and we ended up with more flowers than we needed, putting bouquets in the bathrooms, the entrance hall, etc. My favorite purchase from FiftyFlowers was the boutonnieres - the Star of Bethlehem flowers were unique and beautiful! We ended up spending around $600 from FiftyFlowers on 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 13 boutonnieres, 3 corsages, ranunculus for our ... cake and greenery for 15 centerpieces. We spent about $1,000 total on flowers (roses, hydrangeas and snapdragons from the other retailer, also beautiful) and spent a few hours the day before the wedding putting everything together, but it was worth it for the value and we got tons of compliments on all of our flowers! Flowers Used for Susan Glass's Arrangements

Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets

The Star of Bethlehem's were the most beautiful, special addition to our bouquets and coordinated perfectly with the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres! They arrived 3 days before the event mostly closed an opened up a bit for the day of, but we wish we ordered them to arrive a full week before, because a few days after the wedding they really bloomed! They were still beautiful anyway, but I wish our guests got to see them at their best!

Arrived beautiful and looked great in our bouquets as well as on our cake

Used for: Corsages, Boutonnieres

The best decision we made when DIYing our flowers was ordering ready-to-go corsages and boutonnieres. These arrived 3 days before the event and stayed fresh for the event. We actually wish we ordered them to arrive 5-6 days before because a couple days after the wedding they really bloomed!
