Derek & Robert's Rustic Chic Wedding

Hylary Locsin (PRO) Long Barn, CA
The Long Barn Lodge in Long Barn, California has a lot of rustic charm nestled in the woods of the Stanislaus Forest. To celebrate the love-filled wedding of Derek and Robert, we capitalized on the rustic theme bringing hints of burlap to the hand-tied wedding party bouquets, centerpieces, and boutonnieres. To decorate the ceremony site, mums were used to create whimsical pomander balls that framed the tree where the vows were exchanged. The Long Barn Lodge ice rink was turned into a chic evening venue with mirror chargers and candles that reflected the vibrant colors of the blue and yellow hydrangea centerpieces nestled into burlap embellished mason jars. The wedding was full of love and excitement, ... and the flowers were the perfect accent. Show more

Flowers Used for Hylary Locsin's Arrangements

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres

What beautiful blooms! I was a bit worried about them lasting because hydrangeas are notorious for wilting, but they arrived well hydrated and responded well to my flower food and lots of water. The blooms were HUGE and the blue color incredibly vibrant. They also lasted well past the event date and are on their way to being beautiful dried flowers. Highly recommend for a naturally occurring blue flower!

What beautiful blooms! I was a bit worried about them lasting because hydrangeas are notorious for wilting, but they arrived well hydrated and responded well to my flower food and lots of water. I was also working with blue hydrangeas and the yellow blooms were not quite as large as the blue, but were still beautiful. They also lasted well past the event date and are on their way to being beautiful dried flowers. Highly recommend!

Although the blooms were nice, the "Blue Purple" description is inaccurate as is the photo. I know it states that sometimes flowers have different tints and there might be inconsistencies with the colors displayed on the computer monitor, but these flowers were a medium shade of violet and had absolutely zero blue tint to them. Luckily I was able to use floral spray paint to alter their color and they held up well, especially considering that they were died in the first place to be purple. I was able to use some, but not as many as I would have liked because of how purple the color was. Keep that in mind when purchasing these flowers.

Yarrow Achillea Yellow Flower ( 10 Bunches or 100 Stems )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other, Bridal Bouquet

I was pleasantly surprised by the hardiness and versatility of these beautiful flowers. They were very easy to care for, responded well to flower food, and were incredibly easy to work with. They do have a slight earthy odor, but it wasn't offensive. I was able to use them in all of my arrangements, even breaking off smaller portions of the bloom for the wedding party's hair! Highly recommended for a vibrant, deep yellow color.

Spider Mum Yellow Flower ( 7 bunches or 70 stems )

Used for: Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other, Bridal Bouquet

These mums were lovely! They were a day late arriving to me but it didn't affect their freshness and vibrant yellow color. I gave them plenty of flower food and water and they were beautiful for the event and even for a week past it! Highly recommend.

Blue Spider Flower ( 8 bunches or 80 stems )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other, Bridal Bouquet

These flowers were beautiful but I had a few issues with them. They arrived a day late which wasn't a huge deal, but a few of the heads were completely severed at the base making the flowers not usable. Fifty Flowers refunded me the money for those flowers, but a few more fell off later on...not sure if it's from the dye or not, but I was also working with yellow mums and had zero of them fall off in this way. Also, the dye from the flowers completely changed the color of my hands for several days. Definitely work with gloves when arranging these flowers! The blue color also isn't as consistent as it appears in the picture, the center of most of the flowers was white. Other than that, the blooms were lovely and worked well in my arrangements.
