Englishman Ever After

Jessica Nance (Bride) Julian, NC
When Dustin and I began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted certain details to be handled by ourselves or close relatives. Dustin and his dad created the table numbers from old barn wood. My mom, sister, and I gathered candle holders, vases, and other decor for many months. My mom, mother-in-law, and aunt made all of our desserts. The table where we shared our first meal as husband and wife was the table we would go on to use at our first home together. The fabric draping over our ceremony arch had been used at both of my grandparents' 50th-anniversary parties. All of our decor was sentimental and very personal to us. When our flowers arrived on Wednesday and Thursday before our wedding, ... Dustin and I helped my mom unwrap and prep them. This part took many hours and lots of space. We used around 7 or 8 five gallon buckets and a few smaller ones to hold everything, then stored them in my parents' bathroom with an indirect fan on low to keep them cool. The whole house smelled heavenly! My mom arranged the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages on Friday. We transported the other flowers to our venue in the buckets, then everything was put in vases Saturday morning/afternoon before the wedding. Our photographer and many of our guests could not believe my mom (who is not a florist) did our flowers. It was such an awesome feeling knowing how many responsibilities our families took on in order for us to have the wedding day of our dreams! Show more

Flowers Used for Jessica Nance's Arrangements

Eucalyptus Greenery for Weddings
Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Corsages, Boutonnieres

I loved having the extra greenery to fill out our flower arrangements. I am especially glad I added this pack because the baby eucalyptus ended up being my favorite variety by far! We found many of the silver dollar stems to be discolored or pretty dirty. The small pack was plenty for the amount of arrangements we needed.

Blue Thistle Wedding Flowers Close up

Thistle Blue Flower ( 50 stems )

Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Corsages, Boutonnieres

LOVE! I am so glad I ordered these!! They're so unique and they were the perfect hint of blue for the bouquets and boutonnieres.

Burgundy Blush DIY Wedding Flower Pack
Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Corsages, Boutonnieres

This was the pack my whole order was based around. I loved everything about it and could have easily got by with this pack alone. However, I'm glad I added other types of eucalyptus since some of the silver dollar was unusable. The blush garden roses had a purple tint (which I knew to expect from the description) so I'm also extremely glad I added the Soft Pink O'Hara garden roses to bring more pink to my bouquets.

Whimsical Garden Rose Sample Pack ( Whimsical Sample Pack )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Corsages, Boutonnieres, Other

I added this pack after reading that the "blush" in the Burgundy Blush DIY Pack could appear more lavender than pink (which it did). I ordered 12 stems of the Soft Pink O'Hara, 6 White Blush, and 6 Red Velvet. I doubled up on the Soft Pink O'Hara because it appeared to be the prettiest pink color in the pictures and I wanted more pink in the bouquets. They did not disappoint! The Red Velvet variety was too red to use in bouquets, but we added them to other arrangements because they were gorgeous! All the flowers were great to work with but garden roses are HUGE. I wish I would have ordered a few spray roses or other small variety to use for corsages and boutonnieres.
