Eucalyptus Summer Wedding

Emma Greene (Bride) KINGSPORT, TN
From the beginning of my wedding planning days, I was pretty sure I wanted to order my flowers online. I'm a fairly creative person and I have a few family members I knew would be good at flower arranging. It was a long process of counting the number of stems I would need and making spreadsheets to keep up with the cost and my budget but I finally ordered my flowers less than a month before my wedding. I'm a bit of a procrastinator, which isn't always great for wedding planning, but since they don't ship till right before the delivery date anyway, everything worked out great! My wedding was on July 7th and the recommended delivery date was the 5th, but because of Independence Day, I could ... only select the 3rd or the 6th. So I called FiftyFlowers to see if they had any suggestions on what I should do and they were super helpful and put this stressed bride at ease. I went ahead and ordered everything to be delivered on the 3rd. The only real flowers I ordered were garden roses and they told me they would be able to be delivered on the 5th so it was perfect! When everything arrived I just followed the care instructions and everything looked and stayed fresh. My wedding was about an hour and a half away from my house so we needed everything to be ready by Thursday night because we were leaving on Friday and spending the night there. So my mom and some of my bridesmaids came and we spent all day cutting stems, making bouquets, arranging centerpieces, crafting flower crowns and tying ribbons around boutonnieres. By the end of the night, we were exhausted and not 100% sure how we were going to transport all these flowers to the venue. But the next day each of my family members took a few vases and a bucket of greens and they all made it to the venue still looking fresh. The flowers stayed at the venue from Friday around 3 pm till after the wedding ended on Saturday around 10:30 pm and they never looked wilted or even tired. I had most of greens for a little over four total days and the roses for a little over two days and I was so happy with how nicely everything held up and how beautiful everything looked. Honestly, one of my favorite memories from my whole wedding process was getting together with my family and friends and chatting while we got all the flowers ready. Show more

Flowers Used for Emma Greene's Arrangements

The willow eucalyptus was really nice and added some nice wispy depth to all the arrangements. My only complaint would be that some of the leaves were brown/rust colored. I know not every stem will be fresh but there seemed to be more dead ones from this type than any of the other greens I ordered (including other types of eucalyptus). But they smelled great and there was still plenty of stems for what I needed.

Italian Ruscus Greenery ( 15 bunches )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

Because my wedding was on July 7th I wasn't able to get these on Thursday (the recommended date) because of the 4th of July holiday, but They came looking really fresh and stayed looking fresh even a couple days after the wedding. I just followed the care directions and they turned out great. Most of my greenery was eucalyptus but this was a nice, rich, darker green to add depth to my arrangements. I also used it on my cake as a substitute for olive leaves and it looked great.

I love eucalyptus! My wedding was july 7th so the recommended delivery date was july 5th but due to the holiday I had to select July 3rd. I got a text after some of the other greenery arrived that there was a delay for the eucalyptus, but it ended up arriving on Thursday so it was actually perfect timing. It looked great and it smelled even better. I followed the care instructions and they stayed fresh and looked great on my wedding day!

I love silver dollar eucalyptus! My wedding was july 7th so the recommended delivery date was july 5th but due to the holiday I had to select July 3rd. Garden Rose Creamy White Blush ( 72 Garden Roses )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

I'm not really a rose person. I chose these because I read that they were a cheaper option that resembled peonies. They don't look exactly like peonies, obviously, but after they opened up I was very happy with the way they looked. Make sure to follow the care instructions so they don't open too early or too late. I received mine on a Thursday and took the cardboard sleeves off probably around 4 or 5 in the evening and kept them in a bucket in a basement which was cool-ish and dark/not in direct sunlight but also wasn't pitch black. My wedding was Saturday at 6:30. They held up really well even with a 1.5 hour drive from my house to the venue and stayed at the venue on Friday night. The blush color in the center was really beautiful. They also opened up to be quite large so they were too big to use in boutonnieres. I did have one in my hair but it was pretty dang big. I would recommend pray roses or some type of smaller flower if you want to use them for boutonnieres or hairpieces. These were the only non-greenery flowers I used besides lavender and I was really pleased!

English Lavender Flower ( 20 Bunches )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other

I love lavender and I was really pleased with this purchase. I received them on a Tuesday for a wedding on Saturday and they did look a little limp but I removed all the little leaves on the stem and put them in 4 inches of water and they noticeably perked up by the next day. The flowers didn't totally bud so a lot of them looked more gray than purple, but I was ok with that. They held up well for the wedding and it smelled amazing. I kept several bunches and dried them to keep in the house.

This was a really low-maintenance purchase. I got it on a Tuesday and my wedding was on a Saturday night. All I did with it was leave it in the box in a basement which was darker/cooler and it stayed nice and fresh. They don't recommend cutting it into smaller segments but I had a 20ft piece which I cut into a 10ft and two 5ft pieces and I just made sure to wrap the ends with flower wire and tape. I used it for our arbor, the seating chart, and our sweetheart table and it was really beautiful! It does shed the seeds some so if you're going to get it out of the box/cut it/mess with it, make sure to do it in an area thats easy to sweep or vacuum.
