Farm And Garden Wedding
Sarah LaCour (Bride) Littleton, CO
When your wedding is at a botanical gardens property, flowers easily become a key feature in your vision for the big day. At least, that was the case for me. I met my groom, Rodney, while we were both volunteering at a therapeutic riding center, so a farm wedding at a location that, among other endeavors, trains veterans like Rodney (USMC, retired) in agriculture science was a perfect fit for our small, casual affair. As our vision developed, it featured shades of lavender and “marine” blue with wildflowers and garden herbs and kale each playing a role in the “day-on-the-farm” ambiance. In fact, while I initially ordered the kale for our centerpieces and buffet, I loved
it so much I had to “steal” a few stems for my bouquet. Our flower girls distributed stems of larkspur to our guests to form a flower arch for our recessional. FiftyFlowers made the whole process so pleasant, from discussing flower choices with Violet, to feedback during ordering, to helpful information for processing, to sending supplemental blooms when some of ours were delayed in shipping (due to weather, and through no fault of FiftyFlowers). We had plenty of blooms for our 4 bouquets, 2 flower crowns, 2 flower girl baskets, 5 boutonnieres, 2 corsages, 12 centerpieces, and assorted décor. We even placed buckets of stems around the patio for a market-type feel. The blooms were all hardy enough that we were able to donate them to a nursing home the next day. Residents who were able, came to the commons area to make small arrangements to decorate their rooms. Our arrangements were distributed among the rooms of those who could not join in the fun. Working with FifityFlowers would have been a great value even if they were only for our wedding day, but they were able to spread smiles beyond the big day because of the long vase life of the high-quality stems. I cannot recommend FiftyFlowers highly enough to other brides, or anyone looking to have great florals for an event. Thank you!
Flowers by My Maid of Honor and two aunts - Jacque and Linda - helped me get all the flowers arranged.
