Making History in the Hill Country

They say it takes a village to raise a child, well the same can be said for a wedding. My goal for our wedding was to make it more than just a short event, I wanted it to be a weekend full of fun, excitement, and memories. We rented a large house in New Braunfels for the weekend, so that we could have the wedding party stay with us, rather than in a hotel. All 5 bridesmaids, groomsmen, their significant others, and even our officiant stayed at a the wedding venue from Friday to Sunday. We ate, drank, painted signs, and yes, arranged flowers in preparation for our wedding Saturday. One of bridesmaids/flower extraordinaire had used Fifty Flowers for her wedding and had recommended it to me, and I'm so glad she did. The flowers arrived in plenty of time for us to put together all of the arrangements I needed and more. My favorites were the gold flecked hydrangeas, I splurged on these because I feel they bring an elegance to the arrangements. Once they were re-hydrated they really came to life. I would also highly recommend the spray roses if you want to add little pops of color to your arrangements without adding to much to your budget. My wedding was all I could have hoped for and more. I'm so glad that I decided to do a DIY wedding, not only because it helped me stay in budget, but also because it gave my wedding a personal touch. And made those that helped me feel that they had a part in making the wedding weekend spectacular.
