Roses And Hydrangea And Eucalyptus...OH MY!

Kara Trisch (Bride) JACKSONVILLE, FL
Let me start by saying I'm not a "DIY-er" by nature. There are professionals for a reason, right? However, one of my bridesmaids (who was getting married just 3 weeks before me) put the idea into my head that doing your own flowers for your wedding isn't that hard and can save a bunch of money. So after doing a bit of research I decided to head down the path of doing our own wedding flowers. And boy am I happy that I did! Not only did it save a lot of money, but it was SO MUCH FUN. It took 3 hours with my bridesmaids and an array of excited family members (mothers, aunts, sisters) to finish 15 centerpieces, 12 aisle vases, 5 bouquets, 7 boutonnieres, and 2 corsages. We went out for a lovely lunch ... afterwards and it was a great bonding experience, and they were so excited to have been part of our big day preparations. Not to mention the guys got into it as well. My groom, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law's husband all helped prep the flowers. In the end it was easy and I can't tell you just how great the flowers turned out. My advice to future brides: go for it! And after this, I'm a lifetime customer of FiftyFlowers. Their customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. They answered all of my questions, helped make the prep easy, and generally went above and beyond. We had a little hurricane come through in the days leading up to the wedding which made getting some of the flowers we ordered a logistics nightmare. However, FiftyFlowers called me, solved the issue quickly and we received all of our flowers on time and in perfect condition! Thanks, FiftyFlowers! Show more

Flowers Used for Kara Trisch's Arrangements

These Polo White Roses were great. They had a nice look to them for not a huge pricetag. They did look more like traditional roses than the pictures portrayed but they were stunning.

Oh my do I love this rose! It is just stunning. Perfect shade of peach, beautiful at every stage of opening. I ended up buying more at the last minute because I loved them so much.

Used for: Centerpieces , Boutonnieres, Other

We added the hypericum berries for a bit of texture. We ordered way more than we needed since you don't need much of these in any arrangement - they stand out on their own. They were a little more yellow than white but still a nice addition. Since we had so much we ended up making the fathers boutonnieres with just the berries and they turned out very classy.

My absolute favorite flower. The Ivory Peony Rose is GORGEOUS! If I ever need flowers for an event this will be a staple.

Seeded Eucalyptus Garland ( 25 Foot Greens Garland )

Used for: Other

We bought the garland to use down the middle of the headtable but because we had so much silver dollar eucalyptus left over (see comment above) we ended up using this on the fireplace mantle and made our own for the headtable. It was packaged great and was beautiful. It isn't very thick/wide.

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres

Silver Dollar Eucalyptus is very popular right now and we used this as our main greenery. I was worried we wouldn't have enough but boy was I wrong. Greenery was EVERYWHERE. It was versatile, resilient, and gave the perfect green color for our wedding.
