Denise Carlson (Mom) SAVANNAH, GA
Savannah Charm My daughter and her husband are stationed in the Army just outside of Savannah, Georgia, so when they announced their engagement we knew that the wedding would be taking place in this magical city. Early on in the planning process, after realizing how expensive it would be to have a florist make all the bouquets and arrangements we had envisioned, I decided that I was going to take on that task myself and make the day more affordable. Immediately, I began researching bulk flower suppliers and the company that was consistently recommended and received the best reviews was FiftyFlowers. Once I made my flower choices I called and spoke with a flower consultant prior to actually placing
my order. Speaking with Violet was a wonderful experience; she gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed. Violet listened to my flower plans and asked specific questions regarding the size of vases and types of arrangements in order to guide me inadequate flower quantities and suggested a few changes—thank God she did or I would have ended up short in roses! I even emailed her a couple of times after our initial consultation to ask further questions regarding flower care and how many buckets I should get to store my flowers in and she immediately responded to my email. Let me add that I had zero experience in flower arranging or bouquet making, but after viewing FiftyFlowers’ online tutorial videos, reading your flower stories, and speaking with a flower consultant, I knew I could pull it off. The day the flowers were to be arriving in Savannah was a little nerve-wracking, but FiftyFlowers was in constant contact with me throughout the day via text messages notifying me when boxes were due to arrive and confirming that their actual delivery. The professionalism of the company made this experience amazing; I felt confident that if something went wrong someone would be there to assist me. The flowers arrived looking extremely healthy and after a few hours in water, they were opening up beautifully. Delivery day was Thursday and we immediately cut and placed all the flowers in water. Friday morning we prepped the flowers by removing leaves and thorns for Saturday’s arranging—the wedding was on Sunday! As Violet suggested, we purchased the silicone thorn removers, and they worked so well! If you are questioning your decision to make your own flower arrangements—don’t! I never felt more proud when my daughter cried when she saw my labor of love.
