Sometimes Fairy Tales Come True

Every once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love brings us a fairy tale… Abigail and Jon met by fate as they lived across the country from one another. After a four-year, long distance relationship, Jon proposed on the beach in Big Sur, California. Abigail's dream of a romantic fairy tale, old-world theme for her wedding came to life when she married Jon. The couple wanted a wedding reflective of who they are as a couple and were able to incorporate many sentimental and personal keepsakes making this event truly a “once in a lifetime”! The planning all started with a hand painted watercolor crest which became the inspiration for the flowers, stationary and details of the wedding. The setting was an Italian style mansion which is set on 400 rolling acres of Georgia countryside with beautiful grounds, a lake, and working vineyards in the southern town of Bishop Georgia; just outside of Athens! The bride fell in love with the venue which was perfect for her vision and reminded her of their trip to Italy. Abigail chose fuchsia and peach for her wedding colors and knew she wanted to incorporate her favorite flower, bright pink peonies and, of course, fresh peaches representing her southern heritage. Guests were welcomed by a large sign in an antique gold frame with a spray of the bride's favorite flowers and greenery. Her bouquet included the pink peonies, David Austin Peach Juliet roses, eucalyptus and tree fern to give that old world, romantic feel. Abigail's bouquet was enhanced with ivory satin ribbon and a rhinestone broach that belonged to her great grandmother. The flowers used throughout the wedding ceremony and reception were chosen to enhance the natural beauty of the venue and added just the right pop of color to the surroundings. The aisle was lined in 6000 pink and peach rose petals which looked so beautiful lining the stone walkway. The bride arrived in a “something blue” Bentley belonging to a friend of the groom. She looked so beautiful in her gown and cathedral length veil and holding her colorful bouquet. After the ceremony, the couple vowed their eternal love on the love lock bridge before being introduced into the reception. The reception was held in the stables with farm tables adorned in eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus garlands, peonies, antique garden roses, peach carnations, El Aleli Peach flowers, dark pink roses, hot pink stock, spray roses, green hydrangea, and tree fern with the fresh peaches tucked in! Silver dollar eucalyptus and peaches were used to accentuate the peach bourbon jam take aways prepared by the bride and her grandmother. There were live trees surrounding the dance floor with plenty of candles, chandeliers, and twinkling white lights as the bride and groom danced their first dance to a live performance by Grammy award winning producer and vocalist, Steve Tyrell. After dancing the night away, the couple left for their honeymoon with a sparkler send off and will visit Italy again next summer!
