Texas Hill Country May Wedding

Mandy Owens (Bride) Dripping Springs, TX
When you're planning your wedding, you imagine an extraordinarily beautiful day! And then you get back to the budget. Ha! My fiance and I picked our "Top 3 Must Haves" and unfortunately flowers did not make the list for him, but I did not have to break the budget or skimp on beauty, quality, and quantity with FiftyFlowers! We had flowers EVERYWHERE. I started by pinning my favorite bouquets online and then learning which flowers were used, and then I'd look on FiftyFlowers. Their spreadsheets were extremely helpful deciding how many flowers we would need. I compared prices with FiftyFlowers, local flower shops, and chain grocers, and on many of the flowers I wanted, their prices could not be ... beat. I did, however, order some additional flowers from local shops due to needing a smaller quantity. My mom and I took a flower design class at a local flower shop and that was extremely helpful! You'll learn how to trim, water, care for, arrange bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces and how to transport flowers. My wedding was out of town, so this was a concern for me. How would they survive 2 days in buckets AND a 4 hour car ride? They did great! They opened up even more by the day of the wedding! My mom and I designed 4 bridesmaid's bouquets, 1 groom's boutonniere, 1 bridal bouquet, 13 centerpieces, 2 arrangements for sign-in & gift tables, and still had flowers left over for our cake. I used 6 different types of flowers and 4 different types of filler. I spent a total of $398 with FiftyFlowers. After pricing so many florists and flower options, I'm confident that we saved close to $1,500 by doing our own flowers. My bouquet alone was estimated at $250 with my local shops. I highly recommend FiftyFlowers to any new bride (or groom, for that matter!) Their blog has amazing tips. Their spreadsheets were perfect for not overspending or over-ordering. They called me to confirm my order and talk about any concerns I had (can they survive a car ride in Texas!?). They even called me within the hour that my flowers showed up at my door! Talk about customer service! I think back on my wedding and my Top 3 Favorite Things from that day were - Saying "I do!" - Dancing the night away with family & friends - and MY BOUQUET! You will not regret ordering from FiftyFlowers! Show more

Flowers Used for Mandy Owens's Arrangements

White Ecuadorian Roses Up Close

White Ecuadorian Roses ( 25 Roses, Allow 4 Business days for delivery )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

Roses for DAYS! These were gorgeous! Like described, they arrive looking sleepy, but follow the instructions for snipping and water and they continued to open up to such large white creamy roses. I had my flowers delivered the Thursday before our wedding, since I was transporting them for our out-of-town wedding. They survived a 4 hour car ride & prep on a Friday morning. I used these for bouquets, centerpieces and a few on our cake. Smelled great!

Pink Piano Peony Roses up close
Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other

These were the icing on my bouquet! Such a gorgeous pop of fuscia! Peonies were not in season or in the budget, but these were so perfect! They complemented the other blush & ivory flowers. Really that WOW for our summer wedding of other soft tones. Since these were more expensive, I saved these for the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets (4), groom's boutonniere and on our cake. Keep them cool and well-watered as long as possible. They did get a little soft in the heat during our outdoor ceremony & reception.

Eucalyptus Greenery for Weddings
Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

Eucalyptus everywhere and it smelled great! Silver Dollar Eucalyptus was a great addition for a natural, "floppy" bouquet. It gave my bridal bouquet that spill-over look I loved. The traditional eucalyptus worked perfectly in centerpieces to stand up and it lasted forever. It was still green in my bouquet weeks later! I used it in bouquets, centerpieces and accent on the cake.

DIY Dahlias and Ranunculus Combo Pack ( Dahlias and Ranunculus Combo Pack )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

This pack of dahlias and ranunculus was amazing. I got the light pink pack. I wanted a variety of textures in my bouquet and this pack was affordable and offered two different types of flowers! The ranunculus were super ruffly, soft and feminine. Their heads are delicate so handle with care. These were used in bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets (4), groom's boutinniere, cake and centerpieces. I did not use the greenery in this pack.
