Vintage Velvet Wedding At A Historic Atlanta Venue

Krista Church (Bride) Atlanta, GA
We got married in March at Livingston restaurant in the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, GA. Our wedding was intimate (20 guests!), with an emphasis on great family, great food, and great wine. We're definitely a little on the offbeat side (I was a tattooed bride in a blue dress) but I wanted to capture a classic and elegant look with plenty of texture and vintage touches. Keeping things neutral in shades of white, cream, and blush with little hints of light blue and burgundy (a nod to my background as a sommelier) to keep it from being too uniform. We planned our entire wedding from Austin, TX where my husband and I live, teleconferencing the whole time with my mother in Florida. Doing a ... trial run while my she was in town definitely relieved my nervousness about doing my own flowers, there was definitely a learning curve but the trial made it easier to figure out than without it! The flowers arrived promptly when they said they would, and our hotel was able to hold them for us at the concierge desk until we were able to process them (only about an hour). The quantity was perfect for our purposes, we had arrangements that varied from tiny buds to larger arrangements. The assortment of flowers ensured that each arrangement wasn't matchy-matchy. So many people asked who our florist was, and I gladly responded "me!" every time. Thanks again, Fifty Flowers (and Violet!) for helping me with the wedding flowers of my dreams! I've already sent flowers to friends and family since the event. Show more

Flowers Used for Krista Church's Arrangements

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet

Such a great value! Got a beautiful mix of textures and shapes to compliment the classic look of the garden roses. The lamb's ear especially was insanely soft. The shorter stems made it ideal for smaller centerpieces. Got tons of compliments on the scabiosa, it's so unique! The tweedia was the perfect pop of powder blue to match my dress without looking artificial. Perfect for my "vintage velvet" wedding.

Used for: Other

Used the entire pack as a garland with candles to encircle the "altar" where we got married. I was planning on using them in the arrangements as well but they were too droopy and shed a ton. If you're looking for arrangement greenery, go for the non-willow seeded eucalyptus. We were right on the cut off date for the end of the season for the non-willow, but we had plenty of greens from the Vintage Velvet pack to make up for it so it wasn't an issue.

Garden Rose Creamy White Blush ( 36 Garden Roses )

Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Centerpieces

Show-stoppers! Intoxicating fragrance and opened beautifully. The perfect delicate touch of blush. I wish I could surround myself with these every day.

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet

Beautiful when opened and the perfect filler flower! Unfortunately they started fading quickly. Spent a bit of time pulling brown petals the night before the wedding. They were a bit droopy when Saturday rolled around, had them delivered on Wednesday.

Burgundy Bohemian Dianthus Flower ( 10 bunches or 100 stems )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet

I'm so glad we ordered the dianthus! I wanted a tiny pop of burgundy to match our wedding accents and Violet from Fifty Flowers suggested these. They were absolutely stunning. Very unique and added lots of texture. 100 stems goes a long way!
