Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMAL. Follow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process.
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.

*If upon first inspection, you foresee a problem with your flowers, do not proceed processing your order. Leave the flowers intact in the box and call us immediately at 1-877-50 ROSES (507-6737)

The Ali's: An Atlanta Affair

Hisham and I (Shaquia) met in Atlanta as graduate students at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Our wedding was held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Piedmont Park at the Greystone building. As graduate students it was important to us to have a beautiful and budget-friendly wedding. Lucky for us, we're both engineering Ph.D. candidates and were able to pull off many time intensive DIY projects include key wedding elements such as our ceremony arbor, cake stand, and of course...flowers! We decided on the classic color palette of blush, burgundy, green, and gold...just because it always looks so beautiful when photographed together. FiftyFlowers made it so easy to select the appropriate flowers based on color and budget. It was particularly awesome to come across the blush and burgundy flower pack. The garden roses from this pack were by far the stand out components of our floral features. At the last minute we were notified by FiftyFlowers that a component (carnations) of our order was no longer available, but we received replacements that sufficiently substituted what we were lacking. The flowers were safely packaged, arrived on time (Thursday), and remained beautiful throughout our Sunday wedding. I remember staying up until the wee hours of the morning of my wedding making sure everything was just as I wanted. The quality of the flowers we received made the job much easier than it would have been otherwise. The flowers really contributed to the beauty of that day and the memories forever sealed in our photos.

July Wedding Practice Run

I purchased two large centerpieces to do a "practice run" for my burgundy, blush and berry wedding in July. I ordered the centerpieces to be delivered on a Tuesday and made up a bridal bouquet from both of them on Thursday night to see how it would hold up into Friday (my wedding is on a Friday evening). It looked stunning. I then took it apart to practice making a centerpiece. I glued a dollar store glass bowl to a dollar store candlestick to make the compote pictured, made a rough ball out of 12 gauge aluminum wire to act as an armature inside the bowl, and then added the centerpiece flowers and some grocery store greenery to complete the look. I'll ultimately be ordering the greenery from FiftyFlowers as well for the big day. The last picture shows the condition of the flowers a full 7 days after delivery. Still perfect and beautiful! I'm so happy I did this practice run, as it has put me more at ease ordering 40x this many flowers when I do my wedding in July. Thank you, FiftyFlowers!
