Bulk greeneries are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your greenery we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey, it is absolutely NORMAL. Just follow these simple steps to ensure your greeneries have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important to get your greenery in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your greens.*
  3. Gather clean buckets or containers for your greeneries. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the buckets or containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cool water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove greens from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves protecting the greens.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting, place the stems in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Overcrowding may cause damage to stems and leaves.
  10. Allow greeneries at least 4 hours to hydrate, greenery may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels. Greeneries will drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep greeneries away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Store greenery in a cool dark area, until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep greeneries fresh.

*If upon first inspection, you foresee a problem with your flowers, do not proceed processing your order. Leave the flowers intact in the box and call us immediately at 1-877-50 ROSES (507-6737)

These were stunning. They came a little flattened, but as soon as they were put in water they perked right up. Just a beautiful addition and focal point to the bouquets.

The kale was such a unique addition to our bouquets. It all arrived fresh and on time. It does have a large stem, so we ended up cutting them off and using floral wire as the stem in the bridal bouquet as it was already to large.

Although these had a funky smell at first (mainly because I don't like to eat kale), I very much loved how full and large they were! Several guests commented on how beautiful they fit in the arrangements and added interest. They had color depth in their centers and were easy to work with their chunky stems.

Simple and Natural

If you have a few hours the days leading up to your wedding, and 1-2 trusty helpers, you CAN do your own flowers! From the beginning I just made my life easier by going with a casual, simple, natural vibe. Toss some stems in there. A bloom or two in here. Beautiful and earthy. I think one of my favorite parts of my look was the moss that I also ordered through Fifty Flowers. One box of Fresh Sheet Moss was more than enough to have 1-2 palm sized pieces of moss on each centerpiece. We had about 1/3 of a box left. And I thought for sure there would be some creepy bugs in the moss, but we never saw any! After decorating 35-40 tables similarly to the centerpieces shown (all a little different) we had about 20 ranunculus, 10 hydrangea, and two 5 gallon pails mostly full of greens remaining. We just didn't need all of it. It was a very large room and looking out across it was so beautiful. I highly recommend Italian Ruscus. Even though we ordered Nagi and the Ruscus was sent by mistake, it turned out to be such an important part of the arrangements. You can't beat the way the stems flow/drape.

For trimming flowers, I recommend you use pruning shears and not just household scissors. Maybe that's obvious, but they just work so much better! And I should reiterate how much you will want those helpers. The day before your wedding everyone needs to ask you a thousand things. Once your helpers (in my case, my mom and one of my amazing bridesmaids - new sister-in-law) knows what you want the arrangements to look like, they'll be able to keep going even if you get pulled away. Couldn't have done it without them! I did most of the trimming when the flowers first arrived and it only took about 2-3 hours total. Although my mom had to step in when I decided to make 25 dozen soft pretzels for a late night snack at the reception. #worthit

Note - I couldn't select a higher amount for how many centerpieces we made with the flowers. It was actually more like 45-50 centerpieces. Loose, simple arrangements (see photos).

These babies are pretty darn big. I really didn't know what I was getting into. I still enjoyed them. They don't look the best from all angles. They look the best straight on. I would have halved my order if I knew how large they were. Other than that, they were really easy to peel and they are very sturdy.
