A Bohemian Church Wedding

Zack and I had been friends for years working as summer camp counselors together. So when he finally asked me out on a date, I knew that I was going to marry him. Two years later, we finally made it to the best day of our lives where we got married on a hot July afternoon down in South Florida. He had been working at a church while in Grad school and we knew it was the perfect location for us to promise to spend the rest of our lives together. I had envisioned our flowers to have a more natural look - I didn't like the perfectly trimmed bouquets that you often get from florists (and we were also on a budget), so I knew that we would have to arrange the flowers ourselves. I was terrified. I didn't know the first thing about arranging flowers and I knew I wasn't capable of keeping plants alive for more than a day. I looked around at different wholesale options and local grocery stores, but didn't find any flower options that intrigued me. I finally stumbled upon FiftyFlowers while reading a Buzzfeed article. They have so many beautiful flowers and inspiring stories! Their flower care tips are also a lifesaver - I felt like a flower expert after reading all their information! I initially ordered more neutral colored flowers like white snapdragon and white garden roses, but then realized that our sage bridesmaid dresses would clash with the bright red carpet at the church! So I made a second order including blue thistle and yellow solidago and I am in love with all the colors! FiftyFlowers called me to confirm both orders and everything arrived on time. Once I prepped everything, I brought my sister and sister-in-law over to create the bouquets. We turned some music on and had so much fun laughing and arranging flowers! We made10 total bouquets: my bridal bouquet, 8 bridesmaid bouquets, and a bouquet for our groomswoman! I wanted simple centerpieces so we filled small vases with pink ice protea, blue thistle, yellow solidago, and eucalyptus. We then put some flowers outside the church to welcome guests, on the cake, and put extra vases around tables for decoration. We had quite a few flowers left over, so it was great to be able to donate them to the church to use on Sunday morning service! Guests were shocked to learn that we had arranged the flowers ourselves and saved so much money. I would do my own flowers again in a heartbeat! FiftyFlowers was so great and easy to use - I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you so much!
