A Dreamy Summer's Eve Wedding

Imagining my wedding, I wanted it to be dreamy and beautiful, but also very personal and unique, not the same wedding you see every day on Pinterest. A huge part of that personality was being in charge of my own flowers and deciding how they looked, while still remaining within a reasonable budget. Fifty Flowers let me do just that! My spotlight flower was the white Peony, and Peonies are one of my favorite flowers – I love the fragrance, the size, and how they look like big fluff balls just floating on the plant. Peonies are also a traditional flower in Chinese weddings that signify good fortune and a happy marriage, and since I married a Chinese man, it seemed appropriate to choose a flower that highlighted both our cultures coming together. After the main flower, I used the Fifty Flowers suggestions on finding filler plants, secondary blooms and greenery and then I dug into the research – of which there's a ton available on the Fifty Flowers website. I downloaded the Wedding Flower Worksheet, which was a lifesaver at crunching the numbers, and then my fiance and I discussed what we wanted and how we wanted it to look so that it could still fit the budget. When the flowers arrived, I received texts on how to best care for my more delicate flowers, plus there was plenty of explanation that was flower-specific on the Fifty Flowers website. I followed the directions and had my bridesmaids and a few other women in my family come and assemble all of the flower arrangements on the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. We left the Peonies out of the bouquets until the night before, because we didn't want them to open too soon. We also received some wildflowers from a friend who did some foraging which added a wild touch to the already beautiful arrangements. The outcome was incredible. The flowers were even more beautiful than I had imagined, they were a soft, dreamy, pink and white concoction, that were easy to work with on the day of, and lasted well through the pictures, ceremony and reception (and then some). My favorite pieces were the delicate flower crowns that my ring girls and flower girls wore, they were made from mostly Baby's Breath with some Leather Leaf as well. Looking back on what I imagined for my wedding, Fifty Flowers made it even more incredible than I could have envisioned. I had full control over how my flowers looked and they spoke of my fiance and I's individual and unique personalities – laid back and not fussy, but delicate, beautiful, soft, while at the same time vibrant with the pops of watermelon pink and orange Ranunculus among the puffs of white Peonies. All of that was laid against a backdrop of bright, lively greenery that really made the arrangements pop. We had so many flowers and greenery at an incredible price that we were also able to make a huge arrangement on the arbor that was at the ceremony site, and it was the perfect touch to an already beautiful farm scene overlooking a lake. I am beyond satisfied with the flowers that I got from Fifty Flowers and would recommend them to a planning bride in a heartbeat!
